Meet our Frankfort Team

Michele oversees the care of all our patients and residents at Frankfort Healthcare. Dedicated and highly experienced, Michele has worked in a variety of settings, including long-term care, public health and hospital nursing. She earned her nursing degree at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill., where she graduated Phi Theta Kappa.

Michele describes herself as “a people person” — she finds working with seniors and their families highly rewarding.

“Being able to provide excellent nursing care, education, and reassurance to residents and their family members is of utmost importance to me, and is what I strive for daily,” Michele says.

When she is not running our nursing department, Michele can be found with her family and friends. She is the mother of three girls — ages 23, 17 and 14. And she adores her two-year-old grandson, Aiden.

Michele’s hobbies include cooking, reading and traveling.

“I just recently returned home from a trip to London and Paris,” she says. This is the first time that I’ve traveled internationally, and it was fantastic.”

And if poker is your game, Michele is your gal.

“I love to play cards,” she says. “I would love to master the game of poker, travel and play it around the world!”

Marlene helps our new residents and guests — along with their families — acclimate to the Frankfort Healthcare community. She has been with our facility since 2004, having served first as activities director before moving to her present position.

Committed to helping others, Marlene particularly enjoys “the interactions I have with our residents and their families.”

When she’s off duty, Marlene spends her time golfing, swimming, sewing and reading. An avid traveler, she has visited France, Mexico, the Virgin Islands and more. “But my favorite place is the U.S.,” she says. “I’m looking forward to traveling to Maine for some yummy cold-water lobster!”

During her travels, Marlene recently conquered her longtime fear of heights. Says Marlene: “I went ziplining! Woohoo!”

Kathy heads the kitchen at Frankfort Healthcare, where she whips up delicious and nutritious meals for our appreciative residents and guests. She has more than 23 years of experience in the health care culinary world, having worked in both hospital and long-term care settings.

Kathy prides herself and her culinary team on “providing a caring environment for our residents,” she says.

“I really enjoy teaching my staff the fulfillment you can experience when performing your tasks in a manner that exemplifies nurturing and caring.”

Outside our facility, Kathy spends her time gardening, canning, reading — and, yes, cooking.

“Even after 20 years in the food service field, I still love to have a house full of people over for dinner, cookouts and breakfast,” she says. “The more the merrier!”
